Today was an interesting, but fun day of riding. We did 320 miles as we are headed home.

We started out at 6:45 am heading to Tucumcari, NM. The temperature outside was a perfect 52 degrees. The ride was amazing, just us and the road. Then all of a sudden we transitioned from flat prairie land to being on the side of a mountain. It was a little surreal to be honest
The mountain ride was a little crazy, especially as I spotted the damaged guardrail which had a strait drop off on the other side. As we continued the twisty roads with 45 degree turns I began to get a little nervous. Dad later said I was going to slow. My response was I only had one shot of not falling off the mountain. ๐

This picture does not show the few thousand foot drop right behind us.
After the mountain we road on. The temperature quickly rose and the wind significantly picked up. Upon arriving in Tucumcari we stopped for a quick break and gas. Unfortunately for me I discovered bird sh** on me.

๐คข๐คฎ๐คข….whatever I cleaned it off and moved on.
As we road on the wind continued to pick up with 25 mph gust. It made me nervous especially as big 18 wheelers passed us. So we slowed down a little bit, temperature at 96 degrees ๐ข.
Finally we made it to Tejas .

You can see we were tired and wind beaten. At this point we had about 100 miles aka eternity to Lubbock. The wind was still crazy and driving Dad and I bonkers.
Finally after what seemed like forever we arrived in Lubbock. We stopped at Embassy Suites to get some much needed rest

You can tell we were tired and I was a little grumpy. The last 100 miles were tough. We went and had dinner at a great local brewery, but I didn’t take any pics. I’m exhausted. Good night…..
